Brain BreaksBrain Breaks are quick activities meant to energize and refocus students after long periods of focusing. These are really helpful especially when transitioning from content areas, and when coming back to class from recess and/or lunch to help students "get back in the zone."

Quick Games/ ActivitiesThe listed links below are quick games and activities that can be used as fillers when a lesson runs a few minutes short, when waiting in line to be released for lunch, or just as a quick beginning- or end-of-day release. Many games give the opportunity for collaboration and teamwork, and often encourage quiet collaboration and communication, building students' social skills.

The Sid Shuffle
This is one example of many different videos that can also be used to energize students, and help them stretch out their muscles. I used this in a 4th grade class several times, and the kids LOVED it- they get it down so well we didn't even need the video for assistance with the moves. There are many other videos that can be used for quick dancing, other than this. This just happens to be my favorite!
